The thing about naan.
Hi friends, subscribers (hahaha does anyone even read this?), fellow carb appreciators! Today, I’d like to talk about NAAN. Or as I like to call it, The Very Best Bread Treat in the Whole Wide World. Why so much love for naan, you ask? WELL. Allow me to enlighten you.
Naan isn’t just a pillowy flatbread whose sole purpose is to sop up all of delicious sauces you find in traditional Indian cuisine. No no, friends…IT’S SO MUCH MORE. I love it because, well, it’s incredibly easy to make and it’s versatile, baby! Sure, it really IS the perfect bread to sop up all those sauces, but who says we need to stop there? NOT ME! Here are some of my favorite ways to consume this tasty treat…
Naan pizza! You heard me…PIZZA CRUST. It makes perfect crust. Just trust me.
Dip it in hummus…so much better than pita.
Since I’ve already slammed pita, just go ahead and use it for gyros and well, pretty much any other kind of sandwich.
I’m not gonna lie…I’ve made tacos with it (and nachos).
It’s the perfect vehicle for cracker or bread-based h’ordeouvres (if you’re feelin’ fancy).
Sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese on it, throw it in the oven and voilà! Garlic bread to go with your pasta…but lighter and fluffier!
Or ya know…do what I do and heat it up and just go at it…straight, no chaser. You won’t be disappointed.
Some of you may be asking, “What’s the point of this post? Is there a recipe? Are you just addicted to carbs???” The point is that I don’t think enough people appreciate naan and I’m all about supporting the underdog, I’m going to share my favorite recipe and personally, I think “addiction” is a little too harsh. Let’s just call it a fondness, shall we?
